FSH NEWS, Ciputat - The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta organised a Parent/Guardian Meeting for New Students of Semester I Academic Year 2025/2026 with faculty leaders. The activity, which took place online through Zoom, aims to socialise the lecture process, so that academic information is not only received by students, but also understood by parents or guardians.

The event, which was held on Tuesday (9/9) at 09.00 WIB, was enthusiastically attended by around 400 student guardians from various regions. Also attending the meeting were the Dean, Vice Deans, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programmes at the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral levels, Heads of Administration and staff, and FSH lecturers.

The series of activities were opened by Dr Kholis Bidayati, S.H., M.A. as the MC, followed by singing Indonesia Raya, UIN Jakarta Hymn, and prayers led by Mr Musawardi, S.H., M.H.

In his speech, the Dean of FSH Prof. Dr. Muhammad Maksum, S.H., M.Ag., CM, emphasised the importance of this event as a gathering event as well as the delivery of academic information. "We hold this meeting so that parents and guardians can understand the plans, targets, and lecture process. In addition, we also hope to get input from you for the advancement of the Faculty of Sharia and Law," he said.

The faculty insight session was then delivered by the Dean of FSH, Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Mesraini, S.H., M.Ag., and Vice Dean II Dr. Afwan Faizin, M.A. In his presentation, Prof. Maksum said that the number of new FSH students this academic year reached 1,162 people, with the Law Study Program being the largest recipient of students.

The event was also enlivened by a question and answer session. One of the student guardians, Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Ramadhan, asked for more details about the road to career programme. According to him, with the current demographic bonus condition, undergraduate students generally need a clear career direction after graduation, either through work or continuing their studies.

In response, Prof. Maksum explained that FSH has prepared various supporting programmes, ranging from internships in courts, advocate offices, to other places according to student interests. The faculty also provides lecturer mentors, additional training in the form of SKPI(Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah), and presents alumni to share experiences related to the world of work.

The discussion session was warm and productive, with various substantial questions relevant to the needs of students. The guardians admitted that they felt very helpful and thanked the faculty for organising this activity.

"Hopefully activities like this can continue and become an important asset for the success of our children together," said one of the student guardians.

This meeting is expected to strengthen the synergy between faculty, students, and parents/guardians in supporting the educational process at the Faculty of Sharia and Law UIN Jakarta.(NSC)
