BTQ Ability Mapping, FSH Committed to Realising Excellent and Qur'anic Students
FSH NEWS, Theatre lt.6 - The Faculty of Sharia and Law of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta once again organised the selection of reading and writing the Quran for new students for the 2025/2026 academic year. This routine activity is an important agenda every year as a form of FSH's commitment in ensuring that all students have basic competence in reading and writing the Quran. This selection is an initial mapping of student abilities so that coaching can be tailored to their needs.
The implementation of the activity took place on Monday-Wednesday, 8-10 September 2025, at the Theater Room on the 6th floor of the FSH. The entire series of activities is coordinated directly by the Faculty of Sharia and Law Laboratory with the full support of the faculty leaders and study programmes.
As many as 1,094 new students participated in the selection, consisting of six study programmes. The details include the Family Law Study Programme as many as 220 people, Comparative Mazhab 138 people, Islamic Criminal Law 169 people, Constitutional Law 164 people, Sharia Economic Law 218 people, and Law Science 185 people. This large number of participants shows the enthusiasm and seriousness of new students in following the academic stages at FSH.
In the implementation process, around 120 examiners were involved from the Study Programme Student Association (HMPS) in each department. The involvement of senior students is also a means of learning leadership, responsibility, and service in the academic environment. FSH also provides additional opportunities for new students who have not participated in the selection to carry out the exam the following week before the final results are recapitulated.
Based on the ability mapping obtained, students who fall into the "less" category will be directed to take part in an intensive coaching programme for reading and writing the Qur'an. With this step, FSH hopes that all new students can have an even basic ability, so that Islamic learning in the faculty can run more effectively and support the achievement of FSH's vision as a centre of superior Islamic law and legal science.[AP]
