The 8th ICLJ: Faculty of Sharia and Law Partners with Three Countries in International Scientific Conference
FSH News, Via Zoom – The 8th International Conference on Law and Justice (ICLJ) organized by the Faculty of Sharia and Law was held online, connecting participants and reviewers from three countries: Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. This international scientific conference facilitated collaboration and knowledge exchange across borders.
The Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., officially opened this annual FSH event. “We greatly appreciate this remarkable activity in cooperation with agencies and universities in Southeast Asia. We hope that next year’s ICLJ will expand its reach to an Asian and even global level,” Prof. Asep said in his opening speech during the 8th ICLJ event (Wednesday, 16/10/2024).
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Maksum, S.H., M.A., MDC, the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, also expressed his gratitude to all the committees and participants involved in the event. “It is a great pride for the Faculty that this international conference can collaborate with three countries, giving participants’ papers the opportunity to be published in Scopus-indexed journals,” he stated.
The activity, themed “Sharia and Law in ASEAN: Strengthening Law and Islamic Economy for Regional Social Welfare in the Disruptive Age,” is also part of the efforts to realize the Faculty's priority program for internationalization. The introduction, given before the presentation and paper review session, was delivered by HE Mr. Tan Arum Boonchom (Sheikhul Islam of Thailand), Assoc. Prof. Noriah Ramli, Ph.D. (Senior Lecturer, AIKOL IIUM), Assoc. Prof. Sonny Zulhuda (Senior Lecturer, AIKOL IIUM), Prof. Dr. Takkenberg (Professor at Fordham University), Prof. Nur Hidayah, M.A., Ph.D. (Professor at UIN Jakarta), and Dr. Kasinee Katelakha (Assistant Director of The Halal Science Center).[LFM]
