Research Expert Council Meeting: Aiming for 58 Scopus-Indexed Articles

FSH News, Madya Meeting Room – The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) held a Research Expert Council meeting on Thursday, January 16, 2025, to initiate the strategic concept development for faculty research within FSH. The meeting, held in the faculty meeting room, was attended by the Dean, Vice Deans, the Research Expert Council, and faculty representatives from each department.

This meeting serves as the initial step following the delegation of faculty research programs from the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM). With an ambitious target of 58 Scopus-indexed articles this year, FSH aims to prepare a well-structured and focused research plan.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Maksum, S.H., MDC., the Dean of FSH, emphasized that the development of this research concept aims to enhance the quality of faculty publications while supporting institutional ranking improvement on both national and international scales. "We understand that research is the backbone of higher education. By developing an integrated and sustainable concept, we aim to ensure that this target is achieved with optimal quality," said the Dean in his opening remarks.

During the meeting, the Research Expert Council discussed various crucial aspects, including mapping priority research topics, funding schemes, collaboration strategies among faculty members, and a timeline for publication mentoring. The council also highlighted the importance of aligning faculty research with curriculum development to ensure that research outcomes remain relevant to academic and societal needs.

Prof. Dr. Mesraini, M.Ag., the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, noted that achieving the target of 58 Scopus-indexed articles requires collaboration among all faculty members. "We are not only aiming for quantity but also for impactful, high-quality research. Therefore, the faculty will maximize its support through training, writing mentorship, and access to international journals," she asserted.

The meeting also explored opportunities for inter-institutional collaborations, both domestically and internationally, to broaden the faculty's research network. One of the Research Council members, Windy Triana, Ph.D., emphasized the importance of building a research ecosystem that is conducive and responsive to societal needs.

FSH’s Research Expert Council consists of 10 members:

  1. Prof. Dr. Yayan Sopyan, M.Ag.
  2. Prof. Dr. Asmawi, M.Ag.
  3. Prof. Dr. Rumadi, M.Ag.
