MIEL is oriented towards creating graduates who are experts in Islamic Economic Law. In accordance with level 8 of the Indonesian Qualification Frameworks (KKNI) and Emancipated Learning – Independent Campus (MBKM). MIEL formulates graduate profiles as follows:

1. Legal practitioners, such as judges, lawyers, advisors, sharia business supervisors, arbiters and mediators who master theories and concepts of economic law and Islamic law and have leadership and managerial skills in their fields;
2. Researchers who are able to conduct advanced research in Islamic economic law disciplines. For more details, see Appendix 13.

 Also, MIEL graduates have a prospect of becoming Sharia Supervisory Board members to ensure the Sharia compliance of Sharia business entities. To achieve this goal, the curriculum is designed to meet the graduates’ needs by integrating business law and Islamic law (Muamalah). In addition, MIEL focuses on studying various Sharia businesses and industries, such as Islamic banks; non-bank Islamic financial institutions (Sharia financing, capital markets, Sharia Mutual Funds, and Sukuk); Sharia Micro Finance Institutions (Sharia cooperatives and Bayt al-Mal wa al Tamwil), sharia fintech, halal industries, Sharia hospitals, Sharia hotels, and Sharia Tourism.
