Inauguration and Handover of Position of Head of FSH Laboratory UIN Jakarta
FSH NEWS, Madya Meeting Room – The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) at the State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta held an inauguration and handover ceremony for the Head of the FSH Laboratory. During the event, Prof. Dr. Wardah Nuroniyah, S.H.I., M.S.I., officially handed over the position of Head of the Laboratory for the 2023-2025 period to her successor, Arip Purkon, M.A., Ph.D. The ceremony was conducted with solemnity and was attended by the Dean of FSH, Vice Deans, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, and the FSH Quality Assurance Team (Monday, 03/02/2025).
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Maksum, S.H., M.A., MDC., the Dean of FSH, emphasized that the laboratory plays a crucial role in the faculty's development, particularly in supporting student practical training. He also highlighted that this was a key consideration in the recent ACQUIN international accreditation visit. Therefore, strengthening the management and development of the laboratory is essential to enhancing its contribution to both students and the faculty.
FSH also aims to develop various initiatives that not only enhance students' competencies but also have the potential to generate revenue for the faculty. Among the programs under consideration are training for preachers (khutbah), Halal Slaughter Certification (Juleha), and professional certification programs through the FSH Laboratory. These initiatives would transform the laboratory into a training center that benefits both faculty members and students.
Additionally, the continuity of the Faculty’s Legal Consultation and Aid Institute (LKBH) remains a priority. A well-functioning LKBH will encourage faculty members to actively provide pro bono legal services, thereby increasing public trust in the faculty. This is particularly important as the lawyers involved are academics with strong theoretical expertise.
The Dean of FSH also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Prof. Wardah for her dedication and contributions during her tenure as Head of the Laboratory. He hopes that Arip Purkon, Ph.D., as the new leader, will continue existing programs and introduce new innovations to further enhance the laboratory's impact.
"The laboratory is not just a place for students to develop their practical skills but also holds great potential to create financial opportunities for the faculty," stated the Dean of FSH in his speech.
With new leadership in place, the FSH Laboratory at UIN Jakarta is expected to continue growing and providing greater benefits to both the academic community and society at large.[LFM]
