FSH NEWS, Madya Meeting Room — The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta explored opportunities to strengthen international collaboration with La Trobe University, Australia, through a collaborative forum addressing domestic violence and the involvement of Australian Muslim women. The initiative is part of FSH UIN Jakarta’s efforts to expand its international academic network while creating opportunities for knowledge and experience exchange on legal and social issues concerning women, families, and protection from violence.

During the discussion, Windy Triana, Ph.D., explained that the collaboration is aimed at organizing a forum addressing domestic violence issues together with the Australian Muslim women’s community. In addition, the collaboration with La Trobe University is expected to provide a platform for developing academic activities involving the academic communities of both institutions.

The Dean of FSH UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Maksum, welcomed the proposed collaboration. He highlighted that FSH UIN Jakarta has established partnerships with various institutions at both national and international levels. He noted that collaboration focusing on domestic violence and Muslim women is a valuable initiative, as it can broaden academic perspectives while strengthening institutional networks.

“FSH has collaborated with many institutions. This is a very good initiative,” said the Dean of FSH UIN Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Ade Rina, M.Si., expressed her appreciation for the invitation to collaborate. She hoped that the proposed partnership could be implemented jointly and provide meaningful benefits to both parties.

“Thank you for inviting us to collaborate. God willing, we will work together to carry out this initiative,” she said.

Support for the proposed collaboration was also expressed by Dr. Hj. Lathifah Khasanah, MA., MHSE., Dean of the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training at Universitas Cendekia Abditama. She expressed her hope that the collaboration would not remain limited to formal agreements or institutional networking on paper, but would be translated into concrete and sustainable activities.

“Thank you for this opportunity. Hopefully, our networking will not remain only on paper, but will also lead to concrete implementation,” she said.

She further explained that the proposed collaboration was also part of an aspiration from the Fiqh Hadanah Study Program, which seeks opportunities to integrate family-related activities and studies into academic programs on campus.

Through this collaborative initiative, FSH UIN Jakarta is expected to further strengthen its academic role in developing a family law discourse that responds to contemporary social issues. Collaboration with La Trobe University Australia also provides an opportunity to broaden international perspectives and encourage academic activities that go beyond strengthening institutional networks to producing concrete programs with meaningful impacts on the academic community and society.
